To a red wine base are added: Sugar and Honey , for preservation and sweetness; Various spices, to aid digestion and tickle the palate; Black Cherry Leaves, to give the drink an enveloping, pleasantly bitter taste.
Black cherry leaves have been known since ancient times for their anti-inflammatory, digestive and diuretic properties, so much so that they are used in herbal teas and liqueurs precisely to soothe muscle pain, promote diuresis and fight inflammation.
