ROSOLIO, THE DRINK OF LOVE
Since the Middle Ages, rose petals have been recognized for their significant beneficial and anti-inflammatory properties. However, it was during the Renaissance that rosolio became widespread, especially in the Italy of the Signorie, becoming popular in noble courts where it was celebrated during lavish receptions and prestigious ceremonies.
Appreciated for its refined taste and delicate aromas, rosolio established itself as a symbol of elegance and prestige. Catherine de' Medici, queen and consort of Henry II, was particularly fond of it and exported its use even to France, thus helping to spread its fame beyond Italian borders.
